What We Do -> MSFC Awards

Medical Students for Choice presents three awards each year to recognize excellence in achievement.

Dr. Elizabeth Karlin Campus Organizing Award
Named in honor of Dr. Elizabeth Karlin (1944-1998), a pioneering abortion provider and advocate, this award is presented each year to the MSFC groups that have excelled the most at educating, mobilizing, and impacting their campus community throughout the year to achieve MSFC’s goals. Winning groups will have made permanent improvements in their school's curriculum, built their MSFC group into a lasting institution at their school, and effectively educated their medical school campus community throughout the year. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash awards are presented to the winning groups at the MSFC Annual Meeting to help support and further their events and other activities for the next year.

Applications may be filled out on-line: click here for the application. Deadline: March 1, 2008

MSFC Faculty Mentor Award
This award is presented at the MSFC Annual Meeting to the faculty member who has made the greatest positive difference in the success of a campus group by mentoring, supporting, and working with our student activists.

Nominations may be made by any MSFC group. Click here to make a nomination. Deadline: March 1, 2008

MSFC "Hats Off" Fundraising Award
The “Hats Off” Fundraising Award is presented each year to the MSFC groups that have found creative ways to fundraise. This award is based on effort, creativity and initiative rather than on the amount of money raised.

To apply, fill out this short application. The award will be presented at the MSFC Annual Meeting. Deadline: March 1, 2008
